Code of Conduct
ACED Junior Golf Tour – Rules and Regulations 2027
As per England Golf Junior Championship regulations, the ACED Junior Golf Tour will adhere to the following rules:
Caddying – 18-hole competition
Caddying for players aged 13 or over is not allowed in the 18-hole competition, although adults, family members, friends and supervised youngsters are welcome to walk around to watch the golf.
Caddying for players aged 12 and under in the 18-hole competition is partially allowed. They can push the trolley, but will not be able to help, advise or instruct the player in any way. No caddy will be allowed on any green.
Caddying – nine-hole competition
Caddies are allowed in the nine-hole competitions. They will be able to help with scoring, but coaching is not allowed. We are keen for the juniors to make their own decisions on the golf course, so all adults are advised to just let the juniors play golf!
Spectators
Spectators will be given one of three tasks – called the SSS. Support, Spot and Score.
Supporter – Encourage the juniors throughout the round.
Spotter – Ball spotting is essential for safety and to maintain the speed of play, so the spectators will be asked to walk ahead of the juniors, before they hit their shots, to help find golf balls.
Scorer – Live online scoring is a part of the ACED Junior Golf Tour. If a junior is unable to do the live scoring, one adult in the group could be given the task of inputting each player’s score on a mobile, via an App, after every hole. The adult’s role is simply to type in the scores – no more than that.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule on Caddying
The player gets the general penalty for each hole during which they have a caddy when not allowed. If the breach happens or continues between two holes, the player gets the general penalty for the next hole.
Handicap Player
All players in a handicap qualifying competition will need a current and up to date WHS Handicap through England Golf and be a current financial member of a Golf Club in the United Kingdom.
No Handicap Player
Any player, who does not have a current and up to date WHS Handicap, may still be able to play in the event (so they have the opportunity to put a scorecard in to go towards gaining a WHS handicap). But they may not be able to pick up a prize.
Forward Tee Player
Any player, who does not have a current and up to date WHS Handicap, can play in a forward tee nine-hole competition (subject to availability of appropriate tees).
Maximum Shot Rule
Juniors playing in a net competition over 18 or nine holes will have a maximum shot count per hole. Once the maximum shot count is met, the player must simply pick the ball up, write down the maximum score and get ready for the next hole. The maximum shot count rule is not applicable in 18-hole gross competitions.
Scorecards
All Scorecards must be signed by the Junior Player and the Junior Marker – not the Parents.
Bad Behaviour
Cheating, foul and abusive language and bad behaviour will not be tolerated from either juniors or adults at any event. This needs to be reported by any player or witness, to an ACED event organiser. An investigation will take place by the ACED disciplinary committee. Disciplinary sanctions include disqualification, asking the person to leave the course immediately and/or bans from future ACED events.
Please note, adults or non-playing juniors must not interact with other junior players or adults, with regard to bad behaviour.
Dress Code
Everyone shall adhere to the Golf Club’s dress code, these are usually on the host club’s website.
Refund policy
For players, who cancel their booking for an event on the ACED Junior Golf Tour, there is a ‘no refund’ policy in place once entries for an event have closed or 10 days before the event (whichever date is first).
If any parent or player has any questions or queries regarding these rules and regulations above, please put it in writing to the ACED Junior Golf Tour Committee.
