The 2025 ACED Junior Golf Tour launched with a bang over the Easter break as youngsters from across the region took part in the opening event at Billingham Golf Club on Thursday, April 17th.
Newcastle’s Pheobe Harrison wasted no time in showing her abilities as she carded one net eagle, two net birdies and four net pars in the opening seven holes to win the Under 13 Girls category with 38 points. Imogen Smith (Hobson) was second on 36.
An exceptional back nine of 21 points helped Ellis Singh (Blackwell Grange) clinch the Under 13 Boys first prize by three from Aiden Robson (Blyth), Owen Walker (Hunley Hall) and Miller Harrison (Ramside) all 33.
Blackwell Grange Jack Sowerby (38 points) secured the honours in the Under 15s Boys section by two from fast-finishing club-mate Freddie Harland and Tyler Perkins (Romanby).
Countback was needed in the Under 18 Girls Division as Lisa Conboy-Bryson (Ravensworth) had a marginally better back nine than Emily Wakenshaw (Billingham) in her total of 36 points.
Close House’s Ethan Smiles scored on every hole, including a crucial gross par on the 18th hole, to beat Sam Griffiths (Billingham) by a couple of points in the Under 18s Boys category.
The under-10s competition, which is played off forward tees over the front nine, went to Rory Mcgee by a single shot from fellow Blackwell Grange member Oliver Whitehead with a gross score 40.
